GAT FOOD ESSENTIALS ESTABLISHES LOCAL SALES OFFICES FOR AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

GAT Food Essentials has expanded its presence in the Asian Pacific market by establishing local sales offices for Australia and New Zealand in Melbourne, Australia.

Danny O’Regan has been appointed as Sales Manager for the region. Mr. O’Regan brings a wealth of sales and technical experience in the food industry, having spent almost fourteen years working in the speciality food ingredient sector. He has worked in several markets including Ireland, UK, Denmark, France, Germany and Australia. During this time he has held a number of senior global and regional roles with well-known international food ingredient suppliers such as Chr. Hansen, Danisco and Glanbia Nutritionals. Now based in Melbourne, Australia, Mr. O’Regan is excited about the prospect of driving the growth of GAT’s patented technology in Australia and New Zealand.

The newly established offices headed by Danny O’Regan will play a key role in serving the Australian and New Zealand markets. “GAT’s technology allows food manufacturers to incorporate sensitive ingredients into products that otherwise would not be possible. For example, there is tremendous interest in omega-3 in the Australian and New Zealand markets, but the number of products launched with omega-3 is less than it should be. This is mainly due to a lack of a truly cost-effective and robust technology to enable manufacturers to deliver the fish oil to the food without the fish taste. The establishment of our office in Melbourne will result in greater awareness of GAT and their technology in the Australia/New Zealand region, leading to more products being fortified with omega-3 and other sensitive nutritious ingredients,” Mr. O’Regan says. He finishes by saying “The GAT technology is not just about omega-3. It is a platform technology which has many potential applications. For example, we have already received interest from the juice industry in Australia enquiring about the potential of using the microencapsulation technology to reduce the amount of over-dosing needed for vitamin C fortification.”
